Lisa Mitchell brings her extraordinary presence and ethereal voice to Queenscliff Music Festival this November. Stepping onstage where the horizon meets the sand at Princess Park, it’s a fitting location for a land-locked angel, which Lisa Mitchell undoubtedly is.
Since debuting at the age of 18 with the platinum selling ‘Wonder’, an album that became an instant classic, she’s continued her rise on the world stage. Lisa’s ‘Spiritus’ EP, out since May, has quickly become a mainstay on Australian radio as well as a live fan-favourite. Still flying from a sell-out tour of Australia’s glorious churches – the aptly titled Heavenly Sounds tour – Lisa makes her stellar return to the Queenscliff Music Festival in 2012.
She comes to Queenscliff fresh from a heavy touring schedule, including OS dates with Mumford & Sons, her own theatre headline shows and a well received set at Glastonbury Festival. Now, everyone’s poised, awaiting her follow up album.
Lisa’s inclusion in the QMF line-up is just another fine reason to lock Saturday 24th November in as a date to remember this year. Currently putting the finishing touches on her long-awaited second album, Lisa once again has the world in her sights. Quite possibly, she’ll have the heavens as well, as she’ll be amongst the stars at Queenscliff.
Other brilliant lights on the QMF Saturday bill include Gurrumul, You Am I, Something For Kate, Jordie Lane, Diesel, Shannon Noll, The Beards, Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes, King Cannons, Electric Empire, Deep Street Soul, Ruby Boots, Kingswood, Ngaiire, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard just to name a few.
Over 16 years on the Bellarine horizon, Queenscliff Music Festival has built a reputation for being one of the most family-friendly music festivals on the Summer circuit – one that everyone can enjoy. And here’s why:
