The Church are one of the most prolific and adventurous Australian bands of all time, and as they put the finishing touches on their forthcoming studio album they have released the stunning ‘Another Century’, a dark and dreamy epic.

The new album will be their 25th (including four collections of outtakes, and two acoustic albums) – a remarkable achievement, especially given all the various side-projects members have also contributed to over the years. Powderfinger fans will notice lead guitarist Ian Haug in the above press shot: he has been a member of The Church since replacing Marty Willson-Piper in 2013.

“Another Century is a romantic melodic stab of omnichord and guitars and quite unlike any past The Church song,” singer Steve Kilbey explains. “The lyrics fell out of the sky very quickly and the music is dreamy and evocative of past futures.”

Full details about the new album — as well as an Australian tour later this year (act surprised) — will be announced shortly.
