Elliott Smith, The Rolling Stones, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young are among the treats on Kyle MacLachlan’s ‘Coffeetime’ playlist, a moody collection curated in the lead-up to the Twin Peaks reboot.

“I’ll admit it’s ‘60s/‘70s heavy,” MacLachlan writes of the collection, “I guess it’s true when they say you can never escape your past.”

This might be Twin Peaks-style misdirection though. Stay tuned throughout the end of the 55-song playlist to hear McLachlan veer into ’90s grunge territory with Jane’s Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam all coming, in that order. Perhaps those groups remind MacLachlan of shooting the original show in the early ’90s.
