Legendary Dublin rock act U2 have announced that they will be bringing their long-awaited The Joshua Tree tour to Australia.

It’s been almost a decade since the rock act graced Australian shores, the band were last down under in 2010 supporting their 2009 record,  No Line On The Horizon.

The band has been teasing an Australian The Joshua Tree tour since November 2017. When they revealed to 60 Minutes, that they were working on bringing The Joshua Tree anniversary tour to Australia. “Unfortunately, it’s partly the distance and all that stuff, but we absolutely are coming,” The Edge said at the time.

“We want to go, we really do and if there’s any way we can, we will,” added Bono.

Well, it looks like the band are well and truly men of their word. The band will be heading around the country to treat us all to stadium shows of a monolithic proportion. They’ll be hitting up venues in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth.

If you weren’t already on the verge of imploding with excitement, you are now. The band will be bringing along Brit-pop royalty Noel Gallagher’s The Flying Birds. It’ll be Noels first time in Australia since 2016.
