Marilyn Manson recently shared a photo of he and his supportive dad Hugh Warner in full makeup, but has now revealed a shot taken of the pair during Manson’s childhood as a tribute to his late father, following his passing last week.

The photo was accompanied by a brief but heartfelt tribute to the man who raised him, a touching account that’s enough to send even the thickest eyeliner running.

“Today I lost my father, Hugh Warner,” his post begins. “He taught me how to be a man, a fighter and a survivor. He taught me how to shoot a gun. How to drive. How to lead.

“He will always be the best dad in the world. Somehow and somewhere, I know he is with my mom now.

“I will keep my promise and never let you down. I miss and love you dad.”
