Megadeth are currently in the midst of their latest Australian tour, but all was not going well during a recent Brisbane performance, with chief Dave Mustaine announcing after the gig that he has fired his “piece o’shite” guitar technician.

As Music Feeds reports, Megadeth’s performance at Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Hotel last night was marred by several technical difficulties involving guitars. According to Megadeth news site MegadethizeD, Mustaine apologised to the crowd at one point.

“We’ve been having a few technical problems we’re gonna take a time out for now while it’s fixed,” the frontman said. Several fans in attendance reported guitars sounding out of tune and Mustaine complaining about the return in his in-ear monitors.

Taking to his Periscope channel, Mustaine didn’t hold anything back, verbally eviscerating the band’s guitar tech and apologising to fans for the troubles which affected what was the heavy metal legends’ final show of their Australian tour.

“You guys ever have an experience where you are in a clutch moment and you have somebody there that’s like your wheel-man and the guy just turns out to be a total fucking dewclaw? Like a totally waste of skin and life,” Mustaine says in the clip.

“Well, that was my guitar tech tonight and I fired his ass and I apologise to the people here in Brisbane. We’ll make it up to you sometime, maybe it’ll be in Hawaii when we luau this fat pig’s ass. I’m sorry, Megadeth is much better than what we appeared tonight.”
