If you’ve been to any live gigs in Melbourne lately, you’ve more than likely noticed that many of the decent shows are held somewhere just outside of the city, meaning that your night out will more than likely involve a bit of travel in the process. But that’s all about to change thanks to B3, Melbourne’s newest venue.

As Decoded Magazine reports, the new venue is the latest venture from Novel, the folks behind Aussie festivals such as Days Like This, Pitch Music & Arts Festival, and Let Them Eat Cake.

Launching next year, B3 is set to be operate as a brand new, 5,000 capacity late-night event space which has never previously been used. However, Novel are keeping things under wraps somewhat, declining to let us know where B3 is set to be located, but saying that it’s directly accessible to the CBD.

If that doesn’t get you excited, the venue describes itself as having the “potential to change the face of Australian late night events.” Needless to say, we’re a little bit intrigued about what it’s going to be like.

“One aspect sorely lacking in Melbourne’s nightlife is an inner-city location suitable for large-scale, indoor events,” explained Novel’s Director. Daniel Teuma. “We are extremely confident that we have found the right venue to fill that gap.”

“To ensure each occasion is truly special, B3 will only host 3 events per year and feature artists who have transcended their respective niches to become full-blown scene icons.”

While everything is still a little bit mysterious at this stage, B3 already has a website where prospective punters can sign up to receive new information, and they’ve released a short teaser video giving us a feel of what the place might look like.

All we have to do is kick back and wait until they tell us just where this new night spot is!
