Currently orbiting the great deep MOON DUO make an elliptic return to Australia hereafter the late 2011 tour, amid new album Circles and some rather special guest spots with THE JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION… and DINOSAUR JR courtesy of Feel Presents.

Wooden Shijps guitarist Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada emerged in 2009 ala San Francisco fusing the futuristic pylon hum and transistor reverb of Suicide or Silver Apples with the heat-haze fuzz of American rock ‘n’ roll to create tracks of blistering, 12-cylinder space rock. Starting out with their homage to Australia’s iconic SCIENTISTS covering “Set It On Fire” on their debut 7″ in 2009, whipped up with the droneful desire of “Motorcyle, I Love You” of Escape, then debut album Mazes, they return full album with Circles recorded during a long winter’s isolation in the Rocky Mountains.

“Full of grinding guitar drones and synth spirals, their second album ‘Circles’ is less an orbiting lunar satellite than a full-blown Death Star, its phasers set to krautrock-inspired noise marathons”. NME 8/10

Fluid and volatile, the circular wave of circumstance gyrates LIVE in Australia March 2013.
