The latest radio ratings have been released and the facts and figures demonstrate some interesting shifts for some of Australia’s most well-known broadcasters.

The third ratings period for the year under new providers GfK, as Radio Info details, shows some major changes for the commercial radio sector. Chiefly, Australian Radio Network’s Pure Gold stations Gold 104 Melbourne and WSFM Sydney have become the top commercial radio stations in their respective capital cities, as Noise 11 reports, which may have something to do with the station’s shift in programming to include ‘hits’ from the 90s.

Meanwhile, the momentum of KIIS 106.5 has stalled with their new breakfast hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie-O (defecting from 2Day Fm) losing the top spot to Pure Gold’s WSFM breakfast slot with Jonesy & Amanda. Rival network Southern Cross Austereo had mixed results, though Triple M showed growth in numbers in all regions, its Today network brought varied gains and losses.

Triple J, which conquered the airwaves in the last ratings period, has lost gains in weekday broadcasting in all cities, but still maintaining steady ratings in Sydney and Adelaide.
