Courtney Love has been a very busy lass of late.

From solving the mystery of missing aeroplanes, to reforming the original Hole line-up (only to take it back) to giving Dave Grohl a big old hug onstage at Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, the infamous lady of grunge simply can’t keep her head out of the headlines. Aside from all this nonsense, she’s also been writing fresh material.

‘You Know My Name’ is the very aptly entitled track that has thrust Love back into the media spotlight for the right reason: some badass, ferocious, howling rock.

The track fires at a manic pace that teeters predominately to a punk sound. The 49-year old emphatically embraces her ageing voice as she fires her notorious one-liners like, “I am the one/you always blame” before channelling her Pretty On The Inside/Live Through This-era, screaming “never surrender/won the war/now go to hell.”

The release is jam-packed with classic Courtney-isms, the Hole frontwoman still standing proud with her middle finger raised to any and all naysayers.

This is the first release we’ve seen from the seasoning Love since 2010’s Nobody’s Daughter which was released (controversially) under the Hole band name.

The track is taken from Courtney Love’s Double A-Side Single You Know My Name/Wedding Day, set for release 4th May.
