Hiatus Kaiyote
Live In Revolt

The future of soul has found its medium through Melbourne’s own quartet, Hiatus Kaiyote. Fresh from their stellar debut release Tawk Tomahawk in 2012, the group have garnered highest respects spanning from Questlove of The Roots, to the Purple Rain man himself, Prince.

The band are fresh from charming the hearts of Melbourne Festival are about to close out 2013 with an intense tour of both Europe and the U.S.A. Before departure, the soulful visionaries recently released Live In Revolt, an EP comprised of reworked live renditions from their eponymous debut record.

If you missed out on the collective’s unique performance this year – make sure you’re front and centre for Golden Plains 2014.

Ghost B.C.
If You Have Ghost


Sweden’s Ghost B.C. will release their new EP If You Have Ghost this November – a five-track EP recorded and produced by Dave Grohl.

The EP includes cover versions of songs by Roky Erickson, ABBA, Army Of Lovers & Depeche Mode, plus a liver version of the Ghost B.C. offering, ‘Secular Haze’, recorded from a live ritual in Brooklyn earlier this year.

Papa Emeritus II and the Nameless Ghouls (aka Ghost B.C.) return to Australia this summer for the Big Day Out national tour. More of an occult ritual than a traditional live performance, Ghost B.C.’s festival appearance is not to be missed.

If You Have A Ghost will be release Friday November 22nd (AUS), via Spinefarm Records/ Caroline.

Against Me!
Transgender Dysphoria Blues


American punks Against Me! are set to release their much-anticipated sixth full-length studio album on January 24 via their own label, Total Treble. Titled Transgender Dysphoria Blues, it’s the intense follow-up to the band’s previous full-length album, White Crosses, and stands as another major benchmark for the band and its career spanning 10+ years.

Transgender Dysphoria Blues is an insightful and highly provocative 10-song offering written by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, whose material examines one’s grappling with gender dysphoria, the loss of a young friend and pure self-discovery.

Transgender Dysphoria Blues will be released January 24, 2014 via Total Treble, licensed to Resist Records in Australia.

Mogwai
Rave Tapes

Scottish post-rock veterans Mogwai can not stop. Fresh from performing the backdrop to the 2006 documentary Zidane, A 21st Century Portrait, the instrumental pioneers provided the soundtrack for the French TV programme Les Revenants.

If this wasn’t enough, they’ve announced the arrival of their eighth studio record Rave Tapes.

Bunkered down in their Glasgow studio “Castle of Doom” and produced by Paul Savage (responsible for Mogwai Young Team and Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will) the record bestows the greatest of promise.

Available with the release will be a limited edition box set including the work of photographer Steve Gullick, capturing the recording process of the record.

Rave Tapes is out January 20th 2014 on Spunk Records.

Beck
Morning Phase


Having just signed to Capitol records, music maker extraordinare Beck has announced a new album due out early next year.

The record has been described as a companion piece of sorts to Beck’s 2002 classic Sea Change. Featuring many of the same musicians who played on that record (who are also currently accompanying him live) —Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., and Jason Falkner.

Morning Phase harkens back to the stunning harmonies, song craft and staggering emotional impact of that record, while surging forward with infectious optimism.

Morning Phase is out February 2014 through Capitol Records
