Davey Lane Australian Tour 2013

Best known as the guitarist for You Am I, this Friday 16th August sees Davey Lane striking out on his own with the release of his debut single ‘You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime’. Released in “nascent bedroom demo form” in April, the finished track- which was recorded at Sydney’s 301 Studios and produced by Tony Buchen (Tim Finn,Phrase, Washington) – is the first taste of Lane’s debut EP, The Good Borne Of Bad Tymes, out 6th September through the guitarist’s own label, Field Recordings. The ‘You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime’ single, described as an “ominous, brooding, psych-rock stomper with crunching hip hop drums and a soaring chorus”, will be issued with both the new single version, the original home demo, and remix from hip hop producer M-Phazes.

Lane will head out in support of the single and his new EP for a headline tour through September and October with his band, filling out his solo One-Man Racket Tour from May. Kickstarting at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND conference for a BIGSOUND Live showcase, Davey Lane will then roll through Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia.

Coinciding with their brand new signing to Shock Records, Newcaslte’s Seabellies have announced a national tour in support of their new single ‘It’s Alright’, the first cut from the band’s forthcoming album. The new album follows on from the band’s critically acclaimed 2010 LP Limbo Lake and marks another shift in direction, inspired by touring over the European summer of 2011, where the band found themselves working in Berlin on brand new material. ‘It’s Alright’ was the first song penned in the iconic music capital, and the brooding, melodic track has inspired a series of shows to demonstrate Seabellies’ new sound in dates through September and October, with able support from Melbourne’s I A Man and their unique brand of shimmering alt-rock.
