One of the more interesting acts to emerge from Brisbane’s music scene also happens to be one of their hardest working.

Ball Park Music have announced that come October 5th, fans will be able to wrap their ears around the band’s sophomore album, Museum, having wrapped work on their second full-length album in what feels like no time at all.

Museum arrives nearly less than a year after the release of the band’s barn-storming debut, Happiness And Other Suburbs, which was released in September last year before swiftly gaining critical acclaim; including Triple J naming the five-piece the Unearthed Artist of the Year.

Not only that but two of the album’s cuts, ‘It’s Nice To Be Alive’ and ‘All I Wants Is You’ cemented the band’s national popularity when they ranked in the station’s Hottest 100 (at #31 and #38 respectively).

While the tribulations of the ‘difficult second album’ are well known, Ball Park Music seemed to have circumvented those issues and dived head-first into sessions for their second album, following an intense touring schedule that saw them playing a sold out 30 date national tour and earning prime spots at this year’s Groovin The Moo and Splendour In the Grass.

Rather than taking a well-earned rest, the band – inspired by a challenge issued by frontman and musical perfectionist Sam Cromack – forged ahead to deliver Museum in record time, displaying the same humour and cohesion that’s won them fans since their debut EP in 2010.

We’ve already had a taste of the new record in the form of new lead single, ‘Surrender’ which was immediately picked up on rotation when it was released after Splendour, quickly feeling the love from Triple J as it became the #1 track played on the station.

We’ll be able to more of Ball Park Music’s distinct, compact melodies and bright, humorous spirit come October.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to catch Museum‘s tracklist live as well, with the band arleady locked into a healthy festival touring schedule; including appearances at Homebake 2012 in December, and ringing in the New Year with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Beach House and Boy & Bear at Falls Festival.
