Johnny Depp is gay for Keith Richards. There, we said it. The actor/sex icon has made no attempt to hide his fondness for the ageing guitarist of The Rolling Stones, in fact he even based his character in the Pirates Of The Caribbean film franchise on Richards. Not content to stop there he also managed to get the rocker a bit part in the films playing his pirate dad ensuring the buddies would get more time to hang out with each other.

So who better to get up on stage and jam with than the human riff himself during the after-party for the premiere of Depp’s new movie The Rum Diary, based on Hunter S. Thompson’s novel of the same name. The party was held at New York’s Matitime Hotel where musicians, actors, and celebrities rubbed shoulders with members of the public.

At some point in the evening Depp jumped on stage to join Richards and a number of other musicians where they covered blues classic Key to the Highway which is a favourite of Richards and his fellow Stones members. It isn’t the first time Depp has jumped on stage with famous musicians. Back in June he jammed with Alice Cooper and his band in London at an intimate gig at the 100 Club.

You can watch some footage of the jam in the video below, the actual song starts at 2:16.
