Best Coast fans are already rejoicing at the recent announcement of sophomore record The Only Place, due May 18. Now, there’s another reason to get excited.

In a recent exclusive interview for Tone Deaf, frontwoman Bethany Consentino let slip about tentative plans for another tour later this year, “I think we’re planning on coming down there, its not for sure… but I think we’re planning on coming down there hopefully at the end of this year and if not at the beginning of next year.”

Last seen down under rocking the Big Day Out in January, a confirmed tour will mark the fuzz-pop duo’s third visit to our shores, the pair regularly dazzling audiences with their shows since the release of the South Californian’s much-loved debut Crazy For You.

Though unconfirmed at this stage, the timing leads to speculation they’ll be coming out as part of another festival line-up. Possibly another turn at the Big Day Out? It’s already a familiar prospect for Consentino, and musical partner-in-crime Bob Brunno. Or perhaps the Falls Festival in the new year?

Though a little later in the calendar, the pair would also be a perfect fit for Laneway Festival 2013.

All Consentino had to add was, “we definitely want to get back down there again cause we absolutely love Australia, it’s one of our favourite places to come, so we will definitely be back sometime soon to tour this record.”
