For ten years The Beautiful Girls has been the vehicle that has taken Mat McHugh and his boot-full of songs from country to country, stage to stage and heart to heart. It’s beena decade long road trip, filled as it should, with shades of poetry that would have made Kerouac nod in approval: weariness birthing blessings, victories amidst exhaustion.

For ten years The Beautiful Girls has been the increasingly reliable ride, successfully carrying Mat from place to place and dream to dream. Over the years, the cogs have been replaced, the power altered and the interior modified and refurbished. The Beautiful Girls has become the good ol’ girl guaranteed to get Mat wherever he needs to go. But there comes a time when a restless heart needs to take a leap of faith; to step away from what’s known and just see what could happen.

The tingling taste of risk has been in Mat’s mouth since Seperatista – his first solo record released back in 2009. The phenomenal success of his second solo album Love Come Save Me, released earlier this year, and it’s subsequent sold-out national tour, has cemented the hunger in Mat to step outside from behind the wheel and walk now with the wind in his hair, cloaked in nothing more than the name his mother gave him.

This is the end of The Beautiful Girls. An immense celebration of ten incredible years. It’s time to take her on one last unique adventure: 26 stops around the nation, shows unlike anything TBG have done before.

In a night more reminiscent of theatre Mat. invites you along to ‘An Evening With The Beautiful Girls’ – a two part show reflective of a decade, divided into a stunning acoustic set to warm the heart, followed by a second set plugged in and electric to warm the bones. Like days of yesteryear, there will be an intermission in which you can dance, drink and remember all The Beautiful Girls shows you’ve been to before and toast this as the last. Join Mat. McHugh, Paulie B, Bruce Braybrooke and friends for their last ever tour
