The Parklife 2012 lineup has been leaking faster than the Titanic since its official announcement in late May.

First up were some touring calendars published on Facebook that confirmed the appearance of the UK’s Modestep and DJ Fresh, shortly thereafter we had further confirmation that British MC Labrinth and Canadian’s pop preened Chairlift would be in attendance.

While the official line-up isn’t released till next Tuesday 19th June, Fuzzy – Parklife’s organisers – released a teaser video, along with 2012′s tagline for the festival – Hibernation Ends Here – with a soundtrack provided by Passion Pit. Which we think is pretty good indication we’ll be seeing the Amercian electro group here this September and October.

All juicy details indeed, but following this morning’s announcement of the Jamie xx solo shows in Melbourne and Sydney, we think we might be onto a winner for the rumour mill.

Shortly after the pair of solo dates were announced, Parklife organisers took the opportunity to share the information in full over their Facebook page:

It might seem innocuous enough, but industry insiders have already begun whispers that The xx will be due back on Australian shores soon after their scheduled promo tour in July, explaining why they are playing only a few shows.

Not only that, but the confirmation that the indie trio’s follow-up to their self-titled debut of three years ago, Coexist, is dropping in September, slots alongside nicely with Parklife’s September/October dates.

Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, or maybe Parklife are getting in with some early promotion…
