Not quite ready to drop $170 on tickets to Big Day Out 2013? Now you won’t have to, kind of.

If you’ve ever had the misfortune of watching daytime television you’re probably familiar with the concept of paying for something in instalments, and due to ‘overwhelming demand’ that’s exactly what Australia’s most well known festival has decided to offer those of you still deciding whether to take the plunge.

Introducing P.O.T.T., or Pay Over Time Ticketing, you can purchase your tickets to Big Day Out to see the likes of The Killers, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and you won’t have to pay for the full amount for a few months.

Starting immediately and ending on September 23 you can pay for your Big Day Out General Admission ticket in 4 instalments, with the final instalment happening just in time for the christmas stocking.

You can also purchase the festival’s brand new ‘Like A Boss’ ticket using P.O.T.T. Designed for the kind of person that wants something more “the ‘Like A Boss’ ticket, as the title suggests, is about fun not status… or is that status not fun?”says promoter Ken West.

The ‘Like A Boss’ ticket will give access to the exclusive backstage area known as the OASIS as well as all of its – yet to be revealed benefits. But as West urges “if the OASIS feels like the place you need to be, get your people to contact our people via the website. Its $265 flat and numbers are very limited.”

The first payment is a non-refundable deposit, which is $50 for each GA ticket, and $75 for each Like A Boss Ticket. Then you pay the rest of the ticket off over the next three months in instalments of $40 and $65 for GA and Like A Boss respectively.

The final cost of each GA ticket will be $170 including GST, whereas the final cost for each Like A Boss ticket will be $270 including GST, and includes a $5 finance fee which is why the tickets are $5 more expensive than tickets paid for upfront. After the final instalment has been approved you will receive your ticket.

You can purchase tickets using the new payment option online now.
