The term ‘burst onto the scene’ is an overused cliché that could be applied to Santigold’s appearance post release of her debut album Santogold, but it would be more precise to say, that the Philadelphian force simply strolled on in and without even a sideways glance at the concierge, took up residence in the penthouse.

Santi’s Santogold was released in 2008 and raised the online community to fever pitch – she was a tiger amongst the pigeons. Blogs all over the world rippled with excitement at the confidence with which she took dub, rock, new wave, punk and yes, pop to a place of alchemy where they all formed something new, golden and aggressive.

After four years of hide and seek, SANTIGOLD returned in a moment of global aggression and vulnerability, releasing her latest work Master of My Make-Believe, earlier this year. Declared Best Breakthrough Artist by NME in 2008 and Pop Music Vanguard by ASCAP in 2009, the voice that defines SANTIGOLD is as complex as the faces that pack a subway car and as intimate and honest as conversation on a weathered stoop.

Joining Santigold in Adelaide and Perth to do exactly what they do best, are UK live performance legends, CRAZY P. Originating back in 1996 during the era of Ataris, Akais and bedroom studios, James Baron and Chris Todd came together through their love of bending and reshaping old records. In 2002 the band expanded to include bassist Tim Davies, percussionist Mav Kendricks, and vocalist Dannielle Moore.

6 albums, 18 years and countless spins of the globe later, CRAZY P have made their name with an unerring combination of lushly structured songs and live power, never forgetting their roots on the sweaty dance floors of the late 90s’ house, disco, and soul clubs becoming one of the most revered live dance acts around.

This November Santigold and CRAZY P will be bringing their glamorous, guerilla-styles to stages in Adelaide and Perth as they headline their own Harvest sideshows.
