If there’s one good thing about Meredith Music Festival, and there’s a lot more than one, it’s that you know long before the playing times are released that you needn’t bother fretting over clashes because of the one stage setup.
But it’s always nice to know who you’ll be tripping the light fantastic to at 2 am so with just weeks to go until the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre lights up to the sweet sounds of Primal Scream, Grimes, Tame Impala, and Regurgitator; organisers have finally released the much anticipated playing times.
On Saturday night we’ll see in the final day of festivities with British rock hedonists Primal Scream, while on Friday guests will be welcomed with the symphonic space rock of Spiritualized and pop futurist Grimes.
Perth cosmonauts Pond have scored the coveted opening slot at 4pm on Friday,and for those looking for a bit more the guys will be joined by their fearless leader Kevin Parker later in the evening for a midnight Tame Impala session.
Assuming you’ve already made good on the Meredith Festival 2012 ballot, seeing the jaw dropping timetable for the Friday afternoon will simply be the cherry on top of what promises to be an unforgettable lineup.
If not, then unfortunately you’re out of luck as the festival has already sold out. All the more reason to get yourself prepped for Aunty Meredith’s other key event on the music calendar, Golden Plains, which announced that it would be bringing Cat Power, Dinosaur Jr, and George Clinton out for the festival in March 2013.
