The Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2014 has added extra dates.

Following on from Michael Gudinski of Frontier Touring telling fans of The Boss that more dates were being secured for the Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2014 and urging punters to hold out from seeking tickets from third party sellers and risking falling victim to fraud, saying “don’t be duped by these unscrupulous sellers;” dates for the hottest tour in town have now expanded.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will continue their love affair with Australia, with three new shows now confirmed for Perth, Adelaide, and Hunter Valley.

The new concerts will take the show tally to thirteen across Australia and New Zealand, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band now confirmed to play three indoor shows in Perth, two indoor shows in Adelaide, two stadium shows in Melbourne, one indoor show in Sydney, two Hunter Valley outdoor shows, one indoor show in Brisbane, and two stadium shows in Auckland.

Tickets to many of those dates have already been exhausted for what is set to be a super sequel from The Boss’ recent visit to Australia in April, marking his first visit in more than a decade and becoming one of the most successful tours of 2013, raking in grosses of $25 million.

The Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2014 will see the American music icon returning with his legendary E Street Band to deliver his trademark three-hour marathon sets. Joining the heroic live outfit for an Australian return is Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, as well as E Street Band’s regular guitarist Stevie Van Zandt.

Demand for the Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2014 has seen tickets springing up for sold out dates online at ridiculously marked up prices, from scalpers and touts looking to capitalise on fans desperate for a chance to catch The Boss; particularly in Adelaide and Perth, which were snubbed for Springsteen’s recent April visit.

The issue has been enough to prompt Gudinski and Frontier Touring’s cautionary warning over seeking tickets from illegitimate sources. “Fans should be aware that turning to scalpers is not a wise solution,” cautioned Gudinski. “I appreciate that people are concerned they may have missed out on tickets but aside from the sheer cost of some of these tickets, the dangers of purchasing from an unauthorised outlet are considerable and I cannot tell you how many stories I’ve heard of fans being badly burnt by scalpers.”

The Mushroom honcho adds: “When you buy tickets from scalpers, often at greatly inflated prices, there is absolutely no guarantee that you are purchasing a legitimate ticket. Some of these sites can look quite official but unless you’re buying from the official outlets of Ticketek or Ticketmaster on this tour, you’re playing with fire.”

The Springsteen ticketing issue even prompted Ticketek and Ticketmaster to admit that ticketing bots had indeed been used to snaffle up a large proportion of ticket sales for the Springsteen Australian Tour 2014, but could not (or would not) divulge specifics about how many tickets fans had lost out to online ticket touts and purchasing syndicates – armies of cheap hired labour tasked with snapping tickets in bulk and on-selling them at inflated prices.

The news of newly added dates then, will come at a great relief for fans. Tickets for the new shows will go on general on-sale on Thursday 26 September.
