The Biffy Clyro Soundwave 2014 Sidewaves have been announced, the latest in a series of massive headline shows from Soundwave-billed artists.

Firmly established as one of the biggest bands in the UK, the Scottsih rock trio will be playing headline shows in intimate settings in Melbourne and Sydney this February.

Arriving off the back of their latest release, double album Opposites – which debuted at #1 in the UK and #22 in Australia – Biffy Clyro have achieved an awful lot since they were last in Australia four years ago, supporting Muse on their 2010 December tour as well as playing headline club shows.

Their visceral live show has seen them become certified arena rock stars in the UK, able to regularly fill massive arena stages, such as the 12,500 capacity Wembley Arena as captured in their 2011 Revolutions: Live release.

They also headlined the infamous Leeds and Reading Festival last year and collected a slew of awards in 2013 – including Best Live Band (Kerrang Awards), Best British Band (NME Awards) and Best album for Opposites (Q Awards) to add to those won in previous years.

Their songs have enough bite and edge to satisfy headbangers, yet enough anthemic fervour to ensure lung-bursting sing-alongs, that and the regularly shirtless, bloodied visage of frontman Simon Neil and the rhythm section of the Johnston brothers whipping themselves into a frenzy as fans chant “Mon the Biff!” is a must-see live sight in and of itself.

An opportunity to catch one of the world’s best live bands in an intimate club setting is not to be missed!

The Biffy Clyro Soundwave 2014 Sidewaves arrive following huge last-minute lineup changes to the Soundwave 2014 lineup after top-billed act Stone Temple Pilots announced they’d cancelled on their festival appearance and sideshows just four weeks out from the event’s kick off.

Citing commitments to recording their first album with Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, Soundwave revealed that Aussie rock favourites, The Living End, would be replacing STP on the Soundwave 2014 lineup.

The Living End are the latest addition to the bill following a third lineup announcement bringing the likes of Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, Filter, and I Killed The Prom Queen, to join festival headliners Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold, plus the ranks of such bands as Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Korn, Biffy ClyroMastodon, A Day To Remember, Gojria, and many more.

The Biffy Clyro Sidewaves are the latest in a series of Soundwave 2014 announcements, including a list of massive triple-bill shows featuring Eagles Of Death Metal, Rocket From The Crypt, & Mutemath, Alice In Chains, Down, and Walking With PapersLess Than Jake, Bowling For Soup, and ZebraheadJimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco, with Alkaline Trio.

Then there’s Mastodon, Baroness, and Gojira, as well as Rob Zombie & Korn, and Alter Bridge & Living Colour, plus Megadeth, Volbeat, and Newsted.

Other headline Soundwave 2014 artists playing sideshows include AFI with ††† (Crosses)Placebo and Clutch.
