Having made his way to Australia to play Brissy rock fest Mojo Burning as well as a couple of headline shows, Nick Oliveri is tonight grabbing a local band to help him run through a surprise set of Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss classics.

Sydney stoner rockers Sumeru have received the call-up to offer him some backing tonight, as he follows his acoustic set from his Death Acoustic tour with an encore performance featuring the full band setup and nothing but the hits.

His set was postponed due to VISA issues relating to his many legal issues, so this makes for a nice way to make it up to fans who had to drag themselves out on a Monday night – although it will just make their Tuesday mornings that much tougher, we’re sure. Worth it for some classic QOTSA cuts though.

You can catch Oliveri’s first set at Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice from 10pm onwards, followed by Oliveri and Sumeru some time after 10:45. Get down quick, more info here.
