If you managed to not sleep in this morning (we know, long weekend, it’s hard) you’ll have heard that those wild rumours about Axl Rose joining AC/DC may not be such wild rumours after all after the Guns N’ Roses frontman was spotted leaving the same rehearsal space as Acca Dacca.

Reports Rose would be replacing longtime frontman Brian Johnson, who’s currently on doctor’s orders to stop touring or risk permanent hearing loss, first arose earlier this month after an Atlanta radio DJ claimed a “very, very good source” said it was “all but a done deal”.

Whilst most fans dismissed the reports as simply fanciful speculation or a very elaborate April Fool’s Day prank, the rumour mill officially went into overdrive this morning after Rose was spotted leaving the same Atlanta rehearsal space as AC/DC on Friday.

However, one guy who’s not loving the idea of Axl Rose attempting to fill the shoes once worn by Brian Johnson and Bon Scott — two giants of the hard rock game — is former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who’s currently Down Under for Bluefest and a string of sideshows.

Gallagher, who’s noted as one of the most outspoken figures in rock and always good for a quote no matter the topic, was speaking recently to Triple M and was asked about the prospect of an AC/DC fronted by Rose, proclaiming, “Wrong, that’s wrong.”

The elder Gallagher brother can be considered something of an expert on all things Gunners, seeing as it’s widely speculated one of his many songwriting ‘lifts’ came from the GNR hit ‘You Could Be Mine’, which Gallagher used as the foundation for the Oasis classic ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’.

During the same interview, Gallagher was also asked what he would say to his troublemaking brother Liam if he asked to join Noel’s current band. “It would never happen would it,” Noel replied. “What would I say to him? I’d say behave yourself mate.”
