Like many in the Australian music community, Peking Duk aren’t exactly fans of Sydney’s controversial lockout laws, which have devastated the city’s nightlife and may or may not be a huge conspiracy enacted to funnel people into the casino and gentrify Kings Cross.

Last month, the Canberran EDM duo took to Facebook to share their thoughts on the matter in a lengthy post, discussing their start in the city, which they described as “[fuelling] everything for us as young and excited musicians”.

“Please don’t let Sydney’s vibrant culture and livelihood become a memory,” they continued, urging fans to attend the Keep Sydney Open rally. However, the pair were overseas when the rally went down and subsequently decided to hold their own protest during their recent Sydney gig.

The duo are currently making the rounds on their national Australian tour and led the crowd at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in a “Fuck Mike Baird!” chant, an up-yours to the NSW Premier who’s continued predecessor Barry O’Farrell’s legacy of arrogance and cluelessness.
