After telling us to “ignore all the ‘Pendulum reuniting’ bullshit tweets” a few months ago, it would appear that Pendulum are – in fact – reuniting. No bullshit!

At least that’s what we’re all thinking after the band uploaded a picture saying “Pendulum 2017” on their social media accounts. It’s hard not to see this as confirmation that the band will be somehow active, but how?

The speculation of a reformation started in October when Pendulum were added to Perth festival Origin NYE, but this was quickly swatted down by Rob Swire as a once-off DJ gig.

Pendulum have since booked another DJ set at a festival in Mexico, and have been added to Austrian festival Nova Rock, when they will perform a proper, live set. So it’s possible that this is merely warm up for a tour – but we’re hoping for a lot more.

It’s been six years (and counting) since their last record – 2010’s Immersion. Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen have since turned their attention to their Knife Party project, but if they are booking festival gigs, maybe a Pendulum album and a full-blown live tour in 2017 isn’t so farfetched.
