For many, The Wiggles are the be-all and end-all when it comes to kids music, with also-rans like Hi-5 and The Hooley Dooleys also swimming around the memory. But for a lot of us, there’s only one true champion of Aussie kids music, and that is Peter Combe.

The parents may be over fifty now and us kids all well out of home, but Peter Combe hasn’t forgotten us, and knows we haven’t forgotten him either – or Mr. Clicketty Cane, Juicy Juicy Green Grass, and Toffee Apple.

If those names mean nothing to you, you’re probably not the audience who’ll be snapping up a ticket for his newly-announced over-18s gig at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on June 25, as Music Feeds report. But, for anyone who ever tried washing their face with orange juice at Combe’s behest (really not recommended, incidentally), these’ll be the hottest tickets going.

It’s not Peter’s first crack at these live shows for the oldies, and The Wiggles have also pulled the classic lineup back on stage several times recently for their fair share of pub gigs.

You can catch Peter Combe and the Belly Flop in a Pizza Band (yes!) at the Corner on June 25, with tickets a bargain at $30. Otherwise, there are plenty of all-ages dates on his national tour – although they won’t quite be the same as this one, we’re guessing.
