The Moreland Crime Investigation Unit has put out a call for witnesses in relation to a Melbourne nightclub assault that occurred in May, releasing images of two men they believe “may be able to assist with their investigation”.

“The assault happened in the Phoenix Street nightclub on Friday 26 May just before midnight,” Media Officer Creina O’Grady says, before detailing the assault that left its victim blinded in one eye and unable to work since the attack.

The 26-year old man from the Victorian suburb of Rosebud told police that he was involved in a verbal argument with three men in their early 20s, which took place outside the club at 10pm. He entered the club, and the men walked away.

However, he alleges that closer to midnight, the men approached him inside the club, shoving him until security intervened. Despite the involvement of security, the trio were able to return shortly afterwards, delivering a punch to the head that caused him to fall to the ground, then running from the club before police arrived.

The images above are of two men connected to the attack, and anyone with information is urged to speak t0 Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at Crime Stoppers.
