Today we have a bittersweet tale from fledgling Melbourne five-piece Doona Waves, a story of packing up and leaving the beachside town of your childhood in favour of the big city.

Heavily influenced by the jangly guitar music of ’80s Australia, the single is drawn from their upcoming debut EP Come Around, and we’re falling in love with the gentle harmonies more and more with each listen.

If you’re similarly smitten, the EP is launching at The Tote on Thursday December 22 with a great selection of local talent in Cool Sounds, Grandstands and Slow Job, so we’d absolutely recommend getting around this one. You’ll also be able to catch them as part of the lineup of By The Meadow festival next year, alongside Banoffe, Baro and plenty more.
