Today we have for you the return of Melbourne’s tropical maestro Flamingo Jones, ready to warm us as we head into winter with the lush beats of ‘North (We’ll Be Warmer Up There)’, taken from his upcoming sophomore EP.

Mastered by Melbourne underground champ Snowy Nasdaq of The Ocean Party, ‘North’ is another glimmering jungle jam from Jones, but has more of a thoughtful, ethereal vibe than much of his previous work, the bright safari beats enveloped by a thick haze of vocal textures – described by Jones as the halfway point between South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and plenty of LSD.

You’ll be able to join the warmth when Flamingo Jones and his band The Hi-Life Tribe play their next show at Melbourne’s cosy Hugs&Kisses on May 27, with supports to be announced.
