Just in case last week’s Hanson-hosted edition of Rage wasn’t heavy enough for you, the legendary Aussie music program has upped the ante and announced that Slipknot’s Corey Taylor will be this week’s host.

That’s right, Corey Taylor, the frontman for Slipknot and Stone Sour will be taking up residence on Rage’s big red couch as he takes us through an evening of his favourite tunes. With a history of brutal vocals, pounding riffs, and a legacy of absolutely brutal stage antics, you know this is going to be a good one.

Corey Taylor’s promo clip promises us a lot of decent tunes, including stuff by David Bowie, Machine Head, Ice Cube, and Metallica, while the Rage website indicates we’ll also be getting a bit of The Clash, The Damned, Nine Inch Nails, and even N.E.R.D. But Rage have also let slip he’ll be picking a few tunes from our corner of the globe, with Australia’s INXS, and New Zealand’s The Datsuns even getting a spin.

We’re doubting that he’ll be picking any Nickelback for the evening, but regardless, we’re pretty excited for this. Let’s just hope he doesn’t have a repeat of what happened a few weeks back in Idaho and decide to call the show Video Hits. Either way, make sure you tune in this Saturday night for an awesome night of music.
