We’ve all undoubtedly seen plenty of promotional posters going up around the place, promoting albums, singles, or tours, and often we don’t even give a second thought to where they’re placed. However, it seems that one building in New Zealand took issue with the poster placement for Queens Of The Stone Age’s new record.

As The Rock FM posted on Facebook, a promotional poster for Queens Of The Stone Age’s new record, Villains, was posted on a New Zealand building. However the poster, which features a demonic character covering the face of frontman Josh Homme, was swiftly taken down by the building’s owners.

As it turns out, the building which the poster was plastered onto was in fact owned by a local church, which explains why they were pretty against the image portrayed in the post. Check out The Rock FM’s image of the poster and its former location below.

While we haven’t had something this comical happen in Australia recently, we did happen to see the removal of a satirical Taylor Swift mural last year, thanks to the artist’s lawyers.

Currently, Queens Of The Stone Age are currently in preparation mode as they await the official release of their seventh record, Villains, tomorrow.

Recently, the group have shared a number of intriguing things online, including frontman Josh Homme showing off his dance moves in the ‘Way You Used To Do’ video, and the group announcing the new album via a lie detector.

Most recently, the group’s new album was partially leaked thanks to a mispress of Aussie singer Gordi’s new record. While some lucky fans got to hear the B-side of the new record early, the rest of us will have to wait until Queens Of The Stone Age’s Villains is officially released tomorrow.
