Following on from its bumper summer edition to celebrate its sweet 16, which earned much praise from our Tone Deaf reviewer, the organisers of Queenscliff Music Festival will once again be bringing some summer sun in the winter months with their musical Winter Warmup, on Saturday 22nd June at the Queenscliff Town Hall.

The first round announcement for the lineup sees five quality Australian acts help stave off the winter chills and cold weather woes, in a well rounded mix of singers, rock ensembles, blues peddlers and more.

Topping the bill is soulful singer Darren Percival, who will bring his looping alter ego for a rare solo performance, the 8-piece outfit that is festivity incarnate Eagle and the Worm will demand some party starting, high-energy rockers EMPRA will bring the rock’n’roll spirit that got them crowned the winners of LA’s Live Nation International Band Competition and support gigs with British India, Calling All Cars, Spiderbait and Something for Kate, annual Mississippi Delta pilgrim duo Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk will bring their upfront hypnotic boogie and pulsating southern blues, and The Frowning Clouds will make you sway like you just discovered 60s Garage, Freakbeat and R&B for the first time.

Get yourself down to Queenscliff Town Hall on Saturday the 22nd of June and be prepared to shed your woollen layers for an all-in good time PLUS hear the 2013 Queenscliff Music Festival lineup announced live at the show!
