Back in 2006, the Sex Pistols were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum “a piss stain”. Let’s hope that the group’s guitarist Steve Jones doesn’t feel this way about the Hollywood Walk of Fame, because he’s about to become one of their newest additions.

While one might think it’s about time that a musician like Jones received the kudos he’s so deserving of, what might come as a surprise is the fact that he’s not receiving his Hollywood Walk of Fame star for his services to music, but rather his services to radio (though it could be argued that a distinction like that is just splitting hairs).

As ABC News reports, this year’s Hollywood Walk of Fame inductees has been announced, and Jones is set to recieve is star for his work with Jonsey’s Jukebox, a radio program he began in 2004 on Los Angeles radio, and has been airing relatively consistently ever since.

While film inductees include Jack Black, Kirsten Dunst, Jeff Goldblum, and Mark Hamill, and television inductees include Gillian Anderson and Simon Cowell, a number of famous music figures are set to be inducted. Mary J. Blige, Sir Richard Branson, Petula Clark, Harry Connick, Jr., Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Carrie Underwood and “Weird Al” Yankovic, are all set to be inducted under the category of recording, however Jones is the only one to be inducted under for his services to radio.

Does Steve Jones deserve a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame though? Well, considering he’s able to bring us amazing musical moments like the one below, then we believe he’s certainly more than worthy of this honour.
