Shannon Noll, Australia’s most loveable larrikin, has taken to Facebook to express his anger at a concertgoer that caused injuries to his bandmates by throwing a lit firecracker on stage at a recent gig.

Shannon Noll took to Facebook late Friday night to voice his concern and anger at the events that transpired at his show earlier that evening. Nollsie explained that an audience member at his South West Rocks Country Club performance decided to endanger lives by throwing a lit firework onto the stage.

“I’m all about having fun at a show but tonight was completely idiotic,” Noll wrote. “Someone throw a bunger on stage right at the end of the show and trying to shut it town my keyboard player stood on it and it has nearly blown his foot off, let alone my drummer who caught shrapnel that cut his arm and hopefully his hearing will come back because he was 6 foot away from the blast!”

“Thank goodness Michael Tan didn’t kick it back into the crowd unknowing the damage it could’ve caused! Up until that stupidly dangerous act the gig went great! I hope security caught the dickhead who threw it! Always 1 fuckin moron!”

Michael Tan, Noll’s keyboardist, and drummer Pete Skelton were treated for shrapnel wounds that they suffered, but were thankfully able to continue performing, getting back on stage for Noll’s Casino RSL Club show in northern NSW on Saturday night.

While, like Shannon Noll, we’re all for having fun at gigs, throwing a lit firecracker onstage is the epitome of stupid. After all, one needs only to look at Vampire Weekend’s Falls Festival incident a few years back, or listen to the stories of an Aussie music festival paramedic to understand how dangerous this behaviour can be. Regardless, we’re glad that Nollsie, his band, and the rest of the concertgoers are safe.
