This week we’ve become enamoured with this brand new number from Sydney electronic duo Chymes, a beautifully restrained track named ‘Bloom’.
Chymes is the pairing of producer Cameron Taylor with singer-songwriter Kiersten Nyman, and they released their debut EP Grow last year. With a new EP set to be unveiled later this year, ‘Bloom’ is the first hint of what we can expect when it arrives.
It’s a slow build, sparse yet absorbing as it gently lays down stroke after stroke of water-garden synth and dulcet vox throughout its three minutes, pristine in every respect.
‘Bloom’ has us very excited for what’s to come from the duo, and anyone feeling the same should make their way down to Sydney’s World Bar tonight for the official single launch, or catch them on March 31 supporting Lastlings at Brighton Up Bar.
