As the old philosophical question goes: If Slipknot play a gig, but none of their members can headbang, did they ever truly play at all?

It’s the conundrum the band has faced over the past year, after headbanging caught up with three of Slipknot’s members, who were forced to undergo spinal surgery. Frontman Corey Taylor performed with a neck brace during the band’s tour last year with Marilyn Manson, and was under doctor’s orders not to headbang, which is hilarious for many different reasons.

Well, the neck brace is off, and Taylor is back on the road with Stone Sour. He conducted an interview a few weeks back, after playing Rock On The Range, and revealed he has taken his first tentative steps towards trashing around on stage once more.

“I’m doing OK”, he told Loudwire. “Last night was the first real time that I tried any kind of headbanging during a show … It’s been a very weird roller-coaster year for me, but last night I felt OK. I mean, I felt 43, but I did OK. I didn’t look like a pile of shit onstage.”
