Do you ever find yourself listening to music when you suddenly get the urge to listen to some of those classic tracks from your teenage years? Of course, you might start listening to one or two before you start drawing a blank about what you listened to, prematurely putting an end to this trip down memory lane. Well, thankfully Spotify have come to the rescue full of throwback tracks which will get your reminiscing within moments.

As The Independent reports, Spotify have just launched their ‘Time Capsule’ service, which intends to let you relive all those classic tracks you grew up with by way of a personalised playlist.

“We made you a personalized playlist with songs to take you back in time to your teenage years,” Spotify says. “Bring on the memories with 2 hours of iconic throwback tracks — all picked just for you.”

The only catch to this whole scenario is that you have to be over the age of 16 with a Spotify account to qualify for it – otherwise, it wouldn’t be much of a throwback, would it?

The level of accuracy in these Spotify playlists is absolutely astonishing. Analysing music from your previously played tracks and the information from your profile, Spotify picks a bunch of tracks that came out during your golden years, managing to give you one playlist that you’re going to play to death for hours on end.

So, how do you start using ‘Time Capsule’? Well, the easiest way is to head directly to the link that Spotify have set up for the service, but you can also just throw the phrase ‘time capsule’ in the search bar and start rocking out right away.

Sure, the tracks that are picked for you are pretty great and will most likely manage to instantly transport you back to the good old days, we really do have to ask, if the playlist doesn’t contain Hot Action Cop’s ‘Fever For The Flava’, is it really a throwback playlist?
