While we all know that The Smith Street Band are a generous bunch, what with Wil Wagner giving a fan in the front row the gift of a bloody lifetime recently, but the team at The Push Inc are also a pack of legends.

The youth-focused non-profit has been helping using music to help young people out of tough times for over two decades now, and are teaming up with Arts Centre Melbourne to give a young band one hell of a start on the road to a music career.

They’re looking for musicians from Victoria who are 13 to 18 years old, with one of them winning the chance to support Wil Wagner at the next New Slang event, taking place this August in Melbourne.

A monthly series of all-ages gigs, New Slang is held at the Arts Centre venue The Channel, giving younger music lovers a chance to see some pretty major artists like Wil in intimate surrounds. All of the programming is done by an under-18 events team too, which just makes it that much better.

If you’re keen to enter or know some talented kids you would, entries are open from today and run until midnight on Friday June 30, so head here for all of the details and the entry form.

Wil Wagner just changing lives one beautifully sweaty hug at a time.
