Tame Impala and Pond polymath Jay Watson is a busy man. Not only is he in two of Perth’s biggest bands, he also makes time for his critically acclaimed future-funk solo project, GUM.

Watson has just unveiled a new single as GUM, entitled ‘Gemini’, and it serves as a teaser for his freshly announced new album, Flash In The Pan, which will drop 11th November.

Flash In The Pan follows on from 2014’s Delorean Highway and 2015’s Glamorous Damage, which gave us the psychedelic synth-soul sounds of ‘Anesthetized Lesson’.

“‘Gemini’ is the first song I recorded for the album, and probably the most immediate,” said Watson in a statement. “I’m not really a fan of star signs.”

“It’s kind of a song about people pinning stuff happening in their lives on things like star signs and religion. I am a Gemini though, so there’s the bipolar/duality thing in there is as well.”
