On Friday, as the workers of Australia raised their arms to rejoice and ‘Thank God it’s Friday’, fans of homegrown metalcore heroes The Amity Affliction had extra reason to celebrate.

The band had taken to their official Facebook page to tease a big and mysterious announcement that was set to go down at 10pm AEST Wednesday, 18th May for their Australian fans.

The post immediately triggered speculation amongst their fans, with some assuming the band would be hitting the road again, whilst others were hopeful the Gympie outfit were dropping a new LP.

It’s been two years since the band released their fourth album, Let the Ocean Take Me, which received acclaim from fans and critics alike and topped the ARIA Albums chart.

According to piky0032, a user on the Vinyl Collective message board, The Amity Affliction are indeed set to announce the release of their fifth album at 10pm tonight.

piky0032 has managed to obtain presumably leaked artwork for the band’s new album, entitled This Could Be Heartbreak, set to be announced tonight alongside a new single.

The single is allegedly titled ‘I Bring The Weather With Me’ and if previous Amity albums are anything to go by, pre-orders for the LP are expected to be drop at 10pm tonight as well.

Other members of the Vinyl Collective message board have even managed to find a test page for the album on the 24Hundred website, advertising “CD, vinyl and merch pre-order bundles”.

Whilst the test page has since been taken down and returns with a 404 when visited, it still appears in Google when you search for The Amity Affliction and the new album title.

According to a video loading still found in the source code of the test page whilst it was still up, a video for the single or an album teaser is also expected to be unveiled tonight.
