After spending the last few years working hard to promote beard awareness around Australia and the world, beloved homegrown beard-rock band The Beards have announced they will be putting an end to their campaign after a huge Farewell Tour early next year.
“We feel like we’ve achieved what we set out to achieve through music,” said frontman Johann Beardraven. “A lot more people have beards now than when we started out, and people now realise that beards are totally boss.”
“We’ll now be moving on to Phase Two of our pro-beard operation, but not before we go around one last time and say a heartfelt thankyou to everyone who’s come out to see us over the years, and especially to everyone who’s grown a beard, or adopted a pro-beard attitude.”
The band will be saying farewell by touring throughout Australia, performing two sets jam-packed with pro-beard anthems from their five-album back catalog, including favourites like ‘It Only takes a Fortnight to Grow a Decent Beard’ and ‘My Baby Left Me for a Man Without a Beard’.
