Sydney band The Moffs released one of the most amazing underground releases of the 1980s with their iconic single ‘Another Day In The Sun. While many of their contemporaries were in thrall to US sixties and seventies garage rock, The Moffs took their inspiration from the UK and the mod, psychedelic and prog-rock scene, making their presence unique amongst the blur of paisley shirts and pointy boots treading Sydney stages at the time.

‘Another Day in the Sun’ topped the independent charts in 1985 and spent a total of 16 weeks in the top 40, also drawing swooning praise from the UK and European press. After another three singles, the band were no more four years later. Despite the odd reformation over the years, it appeared that The Moffs’ *ahem* day in the sun was over. However, fans new and old can rejoice as they’re reuniting to play shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Having been invited to perform at the Sydney Fringe ‘On the Street’  live series at the Sandringham Hotel, they will also play two special shows in Melbourne. As Tom explains, “it became clear that our 1985 songs, with the original line up would be ideal; we had never performed that before as a reunion. Tantalizingly, it is the part of the band’s sound that is most remote from us, and also the point of the initial explosive excitement we had.”
