The Smith Street Band have to be one of the hardest working Aussie bands out there right now. Currently in the middle of a massive European tour, frontman Wil Wagner has taken the time to announce a free solo show during their whistle-stop trip back home.

The Smith Street Band are set to wrap up their European tour with a show in London in a couple of days, before coming back to Australia for an appearance at Splendour In The Grass. Of course, that trip back home is only going to be a short one, since they’re off to the US soon after, where they’ll find themselves supporting the one and only Midnight Oil in Los Angeles.

Not one to take things easy, Wil Wagner has decided to make the most of his time back home and announce a free solo hometown show, in which he plans to play “a bunch of new stuff and then whatever y’all wanna hear”. Check out the announcement video on Facebook below.

The gig is set to take place at Melbourne’s Reverence Hotel at 3pm on July 29th. Joining Wagner at the gig will be Jo Neugebauer and Antonia Susan, so it’s going be an afternoon to remember. Knowing how dedicated fans of Wagner and The Smith Street Band are, this one will probably fill out fast, so get in early to avoid disappointment.
