Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new hero and her name is Thelma Plum. After blasting Seven’s Sunrise yesterday, the homegrown singer responded to anyone who had a bad word to say by, in her own words, enjoying “a nice cup of IDGAF before bed“.

As Tone Deaf reported yesterday, Plum labelled the Seven Network’s morning program “a bunch of racist c***s” after they hosted a “discussion” on an important Indigenous issue without, y’know, asking anybody of an Indigenous-Australian background.

After Sydney’s Daily Telegraph made headlines for accusing UNSW of “whitewashing” Australian history by asking students to refrain from describing Captain Cook as the man who “discovered” Australia, Sunrise invited two guests on to debate the issue.

However, the program’s choice of guests — radio host Alan Jones and conservative Herald Sun columnist Rita Panahi — didn’t exactly thrill the outspoken Plum, who took to Facebook to tell Sunrise and their guests where to go.

“You should 100% be ashamed of yourselves adding to the issue of thinking Aboriginal people don’t have a voice,” Plum wrote. “Let us decide if it’s racist of not, not some Becky and Alan Jones.” Plum argued “three white people” should not be weighing in on Indigenous issues.

Panahi, who was born in Iran, subsequently hit back at Plum on Twitter, writing, “White?! Who the hell are they calling white?” with the hashtag #demented, to which Plum replied, “Ok three non-Indigenous people debating an issue that only an Aboriginal person has the answer to.”

“Good work calling me demented rather than addressing the actual issue,” she continued, “which is how incredibly offensive it is you speaking about an issue that you have no right to speak about.”

Seemingly unwilling to debate the issues, Panahi opted instead for more ad hominem, calling Plum “an attention seeking troll” and adding, “You’re the only one obsessed with race. And like a typical SJW bully you play the victim when anyone dares respond. Pathetic.”

Just when and how Plum “played the victim” is anyone’s guess, but Panahi carried on, “I have no right to speak? You are one bigoted totalitarian. Go troll elsewhere. Bored now.” The tweet was suffixed with the hashtag #block or in other words, a forfeit.

“Inform yourself before speaking about serious issues that have huge impact on other people’s lives,” Plum tweeted at the columnist. “This may just be a hot political topic for you to weigh in on. But this is my life. My every day.”

No need to go to the judges on this one, folks, that was what we call a knockout blow.
