Melbourne-based Them Swoops have announced a Northcote Social Club residency, playing every Tuesday from September 10 and through until October 1 at the Melbourne venue.

Recently coming off an impressive sold-out launch show promoting their debut EP Glimmers where they had a packed out audience soaking up their catchy and contagious beats, it’s no surprise that the duo has snagged a residency at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club. Additionally, they have also been unveiled as a showcase artist for BIGSOUND Live – one of the biggest musical events in the country.

Released in the US and Australia, Glimmers already features three smashing singles – the most recent ‘Rollerskate’ as well as their 2012 radio hits ‘Work Around It’ and ‘Too Fast for Love’ – all which extenuate the band’s infectious melodies and tight, polished indie gems. Their easy-going and, at times, coastal nature shines through in their toe tapping tunes making them a clear rising star in the Australian music scene.

The release also offers an exclusive remix of ‘Work Around It’ by Ben Browning from Cut Copy which recently premiered via Nylon in the US, who touted the track as “… one of those indie pop gems so perfect that playing it three times in a row is not nearly enough.”

Them Swoops have toured with and supported the likes of The Maccabees, Birds Of Tokyo, Hungry Kids of Hungary, San Cisco, The Rubens, and Ball Park Music. The duo was crowned winners of the triple j Unearthed Fuse Festival competition and slotted into rotation with the station.

Since then the band has signed a North American deal with Plus One Records gaining airplay on SiriusXM Alt Nation and are continuing to be added to other stations around the country. Following this string of success Them Swoops members Dave McGann and Chris Goff are also jet setting off to America this year for a slot at CMJ.
