We knew Vance Joy was going to be huge the moment he became besties with Taylor Swift, but this is just ridiculous. As if it’s not enough that he topped the triple j Hottest 100 with his absolutely-everywehre hit ‘Riptide’, he’s just achieved another huge milestone.

The Melbourne singer-songwriter, real name James Keogh, has completely sold out every single date of his current Fire and the Flood tour, and we don’t just mean all the Australian dates in huge rooms like Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena.

Keogh has had a seriously busy 12 months, notching up a total of 59 shows across North America and Australia and all 59 shows have completely sold out with over 150,000 tickets shifted across the entirety of the tour – the biggest of his career to date.

In fact, Keogh’s Fire and the Flood tour has been such a success, industry watchdog Pollstar recently included the trek in its countdown of the Top 100 Tours of 2016, coming it at a very respectable #54. Not bad for a troubadour from Melbourne.

Of course, Vance Joy is so much more than that at this point. In fact, we can’t even look him in the eye anymore when he come into town, he’s a proper famous guy now. We’d go so far as to say that this whole Vance Joy thing is getting out of hand.

It was around this time last year that we reported on the ridiculous amount of records that Keogh has sold in the US after ‘Riptide’, the songwriter’s famous ukelele-driven hit, was awarded a double platinum certification (that’s an insane two million copies sold).

It’s since gone on to earn a triple platinum certification Stateside and is the current record holder for the longest standing single in the Top 100 of the ARIA Singles Chart and the second longest charting single in US chart history with 43 weeks in the top 100.

The Australian leg of the Fire and the Flood tour kicked off last weekend in Melbourne and Sydney, with Aussie music legend Paul Kelly an local favourite Emma Louise coming out during the Opera House performance to collab with Keogh on stage.

The tour is set to conclude this weekend at Brisbane’s Riverstage when Keogh will play his biggest headline show ever, with 8,500 eager punters set to fill the house, bringing an end to what’s been an insane three years of touring for Vance Joy.
