Much buzzed-about Atlanta musician Raury has been in the country lately supporting A$AP Rocky as he makes the rounds on his national tour. Whilst the tour has no doubt been keeping him pretty busy, he found the time to come into the triple j studios to perform for Like A Version.

Raury took the opportunity to give a shout-out to his touring mate by covering ‘L$D’, which is a definite fave among Australian A$AP fans. As some readers will recall, triple j listeners voted the hazy tune into the recent Hottest 100 countdown, coming in at a very respectable #64.

However, if you’re a fan of the original, don’t expect Raury’s cover to be particularly faithful. The whole thing is a stripped back, acoustic affair. Between Raury’s deftly strummed guitar chords and his soulful vocals, the track sounds more at home at a cafe than a club.

As we’ve previously mentioned, this year’s Like A Version series has gotten off to an interesting start – we’ve seen a heart-wrenching David Bowie cover, an ambitious mash-up from this year’s Hottest 100 winners, and what was maybe the most un-triple j Like A Version ever.
