Byron electronic quarter Tora are on the brink of releasing their debut album Take A Rest on June 9, but they’ve sneaked in with one last single before then, the beautifully downtempo ‘Too Much’.

They’ve been impressing us so far with their unique blend of gorgeous vocals and full-band sound peppered with distinctive electronic texture, drawing us in on previous tracks like ‘Another Case’, and we’re just as much in their thrall here.

“It’s a simple message that comes from a place of complete honesty,” says frontman Jo Loewenthal of the latest track. “Sometimes admitting to yourself can be the hardest part, but I’m sure at times everyone has loved someone or something that they shouldn’t have. After writing this song, I found it a lot easier to accept those feelings and move forward.”

New album Take A Rest was written over the last two years while traveling, but the band returned home to Byron to record it, folding in an array of natural sounds recorded in the garden of guitarist Jai Piccone.

The band of course first pricked up ears in Australia by earning a Splendour in the Grass appearance in 2014 thanks to triple j Unearthed, but ‘Another Case’ has already taken them as far as Beats 1 BBC Radio 1, and will see them extensively touring Europe and the U.K. later this year, along with trip around Australia.

Take A Rest will be out Friday June 9 and can be ordered here, and they’ll be touring Australia throughout June/July, dates below.
