With yesterday’s news that triple j breakfast presenters Matt & Alex will be finishing up at the end of the year, the station is giving them a big send-off celebration with a stack of local musos on board.
Described as ‘5 Raves in 5 Days’, you pretty much know what you’re in for already, with the boys hitting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for a series of free parties featuring a long list of Aussie talent, giving fans a chance to say farewell to the duo and soak up a rager at the same time.
Each party will feature a handful of DJ sets, with names like Illy, Gang of Youths, The Preatures, Tired Lion, Ball Park Music and plenty more on board, including a few fellow triple j presenters.
“As Darude’s messengers here on earth, we felt it was our duty to spread the word of the rave across the country, while saying goodbye to our faithful heaving friends” the pair say. “With a heavy heart, and heavy investments in the glow stick industry, we look forward to raving with you one last time.”
Matt & Alex will, of course, still be working each following day, so we’ve no doubt they’ll be battling a bit by the time that Friday morning rolls around.
